Nepal : Parties say yes to CJ as PM
The four of Nepal’s major political parties NC, UCPN (Maoist), CPN(UML), UDMF have agreed to hold the next Constituent Assembly (CA) under a government led by Chief Justice Khil Raj Regmi.
Later, on Wednesday night, the four parties decided to sign the agreement to hold the elections by December, but aims to prepone the election date to June 21.
Chief Justice Khil Raj Regmi who is to be sworn in as Prime Minister of Nepal on Thursday morning 10 am , will take a temporary leave from Supreme Court and will form an 11 member council of ministers to hold elections.
The new Assembly will have 491 members out of which 240 will be elected through direct election, 240 through proportional representation and the remaining 11 will be nominated by the Cabinet.
